do you have to manually turn it on, or can you use a power plug and have it automatically just work everytime?

Is the 3.5mm male piece attached or can it be removed? I want to know if the actual receiver has a female input where I could plug in headphones?

Yes it has a female 3.5 on the device but comes with a double male adapter.
